Asada has landed triple Axels in competition. Her sister Mai (two years older) is a figure skater as well and finished 6th at the 2006 Four Continents Championships. She is now skating in shows. Asada launched her own kimono brand in 2011. Asada sat out the 2014/15 season and performed in shows.
