Bychenko is the first skater from Israel to win a medal at the European Championships (silver in 2016). He competed internationally for Ukraine until 2009. He has moved to the USA for training. Coach Galit Chait Moracci is the 2002 World Ice Dance bronze medalist (with Sergei Sakhnovski).
