Papp moved with her family to Canada in summer 2007. Her mother Ulla is a skating coach and three siblings (Bela, Bettina, Benjamin) are figure skaters as well. Her older brother Bela is competing at the international level as well. Papp switched coaches following the 2011/12 season. Coach Brian Orser (CAN) is the 1984 and 1988 Olympic silver medallist.
