Siraj started skating when she was 2 after following her sister, Layla, to her learn-to-skate classes. Layla is still a competitive skater. Siraj is a competitive pianist and has won several awards. She performed three times as a solist at Carnegie Hall. She has overcome several injuries, including a stress reaction in her knee, a broken foot, a fractured wrist and a broken toe.
