Agafonova/Ucar teamed up in 2010. Agafanova competed for Ukraine at the international junior level and Ucar competed in singles until 2009 at the World level. With his former partner Jenette Maitz, Ucar was the first ice dancer to represent Turkey at ISU Championships (2010 Worlds). Agafonova/Ucar are the first Ice Dance couple to represent Turkey at Olympic Winter Games. Ucar is a member of the ISU Athletes Comission. The couple switched coaches in 2015. Coach Anjelika Krylova is the 1998 Olympic silver medalist (with Oleg Ovsiannikov), representing Russia.
