James/Cipres teamed up in September 2010. He was a single skater until then and competed at the ISU World Junior Championships 2010, placing 13th. James also competed in singles (for Great Britain) at the international level before switching to Pair Skating. Her twin sister Melyssa competed in Ice Dance for Great Britain. James/Cipres trained in Moscow during the summer and fall 2014 before returning to France.
