Honda's older brother Taichi and her sisters Miyu (three yeras younger) and Sara (seven years younger) are competitive figure skaters as well. Honda looks up to 2006 Olympic Champion Shizuka Arakawa. Honda switched coaches following the 2017/18 season and relocated to the USA.
