Hawayek/Baker teamed up in June 2012. Hawayek started skating at age 4 after watching her brother playing ice hockey.  Baker's mother competed in Ice Dance at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary representing Great Britain and his father competed in Pairs at the World Junior Championships.
