Riazanova/Tkachenko teamed up in spring 2009. Both competed successfully at the international junior level with their previous partners. Riazanova is the 2009 World Junior Ice Dance bronze medalist (with Jonathan Guerreiro), Tkachenko is the 2005 World Junior bronze medalist (with Anastasia Gorshkova). She suffered a concussion and broken nose in a practice accident mid December 2011 but came back for Nationals two weeks later.
